San Marino. Secretariat for Education, the balance of two years of activity
“In two days, it will be two years from that Sunday evening when an emergency committee composed of Secretaries of State, Health and Civil Protection met and decided to close the school due to the COVID-19 emergency.
After a week, the gradual lockdown of public services and offices would begin ”. “The world of education is the one that, after healthcare, has suffered the strongest effects and the most serious slowdowns in its processes – continued Belluzzi. – Despite the COVID, this Secretariat has carried out numerous projects: the University has made its own entry into the Bologna Charter, historical passage for San Marino which will produce very important developments as regards the growth of our university and the planning of new degree courses; we started a technical table with the Ministry of Education, arrived at the completion of a first stage with the renewal of agreements regarding the recognition of our educational qualifications and our training courses in
compulsory school; we brought home the Naturalistic Center whose teaching and training functions of an open-air laboratory are fundamental; we have finally given a home toSan Marino Music Institute that I hope that new projects in the field of music training will be born; we started the school sector reform to respond to the problem of the demographic decline in elementary school through the differentiation of the educational offer, through the introduction of a differentiated proposal of school hours in the middle school, with the inclusion of teaching of the Spanish language in the upper secondary school that will see its continuation in
course of the year to respond to the change dictated by society and needs.
Regarding the inclusion theme, we launched a project for the summer centers last summer for all children and young people who have a disability; we have worked to restore vitality to our historic center, to our capital with the opening of the Museum of Postage Stamps and Money and with the reopening of SOMME Palace as a place of culture “.
‘I express my most heartfelt situation thanks to all who have fought and committed themselves in the school world to manage the emergency because, despite the COVID, we have achieved the important results I mentioned, which have a greater confidence in the school system San Marino by the families of our country. The 100 enrollments more than last year in upper secondary school are proof of this and mark a success of the entire school system ”, concluded Belluzzi.
