San Marino. Podio Group: “We urge the opening of borders”
We receive and publish an intervention, written by Gruppo Podium Tour Operator, entitled “We solicit the opening of borders”:
“Tourism is finally starting up again.
After 24 months of very heavy time wasters like no other sector has had to suffer, we are talking about 90% drops in turnover for the world of tour operating, now there is a crazy desire to travel.
It is restarting in a tumultuous, explosive, vigorous way.
Now we have another question to solve.
The Italian borders are closed, while other European ones are not, or it allows international tourists to enter.
We have had customers who entered from another European country, in Italy they were almost unable to eat or even have a coffee although vaccinated, but not provided with the green pass.
After two disastrous years from an economic point of view, there is now an unsustainability that smacks of bureaucracy.
We ask the San Marino policy to take action towards the Italian and European counterparts in order to improve a normalization process for international entries.
A question should be favored which is now beginning to exist, but which we risk losing once again, or at least seeing removed over time.
We urge the opening of borders.
Let’s do it with all the counterparties and in the possible Italian and European offices.
We give dignity to tourism, to those who work there and would like to return to do so.
The time is now,
We specify the conditions with which to accept to let tourists in, we want them ‘vaccinated, boostered, tested‘?
We open not with a ‘free all‘, but clarity of inputs and reference to the person and not to the country of origin; this yes.
Thanks to those who will spend their time for this goal in the interest of a sector that has an enormous turnover ”.
