He books a trip to Milan for friends, cancels and keeps the money
Appearing before the Charleroi Criminal Court is a half-surprise for Kevin. And for good reason, since the father of one of his victims had warned him. “He told me that he was suing me and here I am today”, confides the young man, “attacked” for a breach of trust of 160 euros on two young women.
The latter thought they were doing well by giving this sum of money to Kevin to book the plane tickets and the hotel in Milan, as part of a short weekend. But what was supposed to be a great stay on Italian soil was simply canceled overnight by Kevin. “I didn’t know how to go there because I had just lost my job. »
Sentenced by default to one year in prison
If Kevin claims this Monday morning to have offered the young women to return the plane tickets (which they will be refused), the prosecution does not share the opinion of the defendant, sentenced to one year in prison by default for the abuse of confidence. “He received 50 euros to book the hotel, in addition to the 110 euros already given. Then he gave no further news. He had promised to return the money, after the cancellation of the stay, but he led the victims on a boat. And as one victim’s father threatened her, Kevin was not seen fit to return the money.
Via his opposition, Kevin hopes to obtain a suspension of the pronouncement instead of a prison sentence. Substitution Dutrifoy considers this measure of favor “too light” and opts instead for a reprieve. Judgment on March 21.
