Istanbul is ready for spring | Arda Sayer
On days when you look closely at spring, start carefully experimenting with the terraces of Istanbul venues. Here are the spicy Istanbul restaurants on the terrace where you will prepare them.
Japanese in the Bosphorus
The restaurants in the most beautiful part of Galataport are located on the facade overlooking the 15 July Martyrs Bridge. Roka is dominated by the 15th of July Martyrs’ Bridge camp with the terraces area in front of it. The venue, which has prepared both a local and a global cocktail selection, even for its baklava cocktail for you to sip against the sea, has become another gastronomy brand that Ferit Şahenk brought to Turkey.
In this gallery opened under D.ream, the lines of the city stand out in an architecture that brings together the minimalist lines and the mystical groups of Asia.
Especially the wood coatings on the ceilings. The Japanese grill with charcoal called Robota is the allamatif of the place. The eggplant path, where the executive chef of the place, Hamish Brown, walks with sesame and bonito chips on the menu, is simply my favourite.
My other suggestions are leer sashimi and roasted crab with pepper sauce. I bought Roka, recommended by Rainer Becker in 2004, in Mayfair. Blended with the city’s history, it has become a stylish and popular venue that combines British elegance with Asian physicality. It was a wise collaboration for a venue that has branches in London and has gained such prestige to meet with a project like Galataport.
Turkish bath with terrace
One of the travel restaurants in London was Lokanta 1741. The restaurant, located inside the Cağaloğlu Bath, which was built by the Ottoman Sultan Mahmut I to generate income for the Hagia Sophia Complex, has been a frequent destination for celebrities and business people who want to meet up with the eyes. The small space reality of the small-weight middle area of the bath is an orientation from units like an oasis within the space.
Its courtyard, fireplace workspaces, and terraced bar area with features are inviting for sunny weather. There are contemporary Turkish flavors on the menu of Lokanta 1741, where nostalgic and modern designs come together. For venues that are open in the evenings, there is the Ocakbaşı restaurant called Oriental 1741.
Besides the appetizers, I suggest you try the pumpkin pita and the parfait with sahlep. By the way, the Cağaloğlu Hamam here is still filled with environmentally friendly olive seeds that give a high degree of energy when burned.
It has seen many famous people from John Travolta to Harrison Ford. Deeply dig this treasure in the city at the first opportunity.
Open Italian Flavor
He visited Terrazza Italia, a restaurant that Chef Claudio Chinali raised in Eataly, located in Zorlu Center.
I was not surprised to see the ambiance that gives the atmosphere of a stylish restaurant in England. Because Claudio’ is a perfectionist and emerges as a new option.
White tablecloths, black and white pictures of Italy and a giant red carpet that energizes the whole place created an assertive atmosphere. The terrace, which sees the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, is preparing for the moment with our eyes, and the sun is tempting. Enjoying the Bosphorus view with a selection of Italian wines while tasting Claudio’s seafood pizza, spinach lasagna or ricotta-filled truffle ravioli.
