CASELLE – From the Canavese directly into corso Venezia with the new connection of the ring road
BOXES – Completion of the superficial arrangement of the railway passage in the section between via Breglio and corso Grosseto and of the connection of the new Viale della Spina with the Turin-Caselle motorway junction are nearing completion. The Councilor for Urban Planning of the Municipality of Turin, Paolo Mazzoleni, explained that the City is making an important effort to redevelop that important portion of the territory, together with the InfraTo company. Not only for the construction of the subway, but also for the arrangement of the so-called Trincerone, the Tobacco Factory and the former Gondrand area.
The engineer Amerigo Strozziero of the Infrastructure and Mobility Division of the Municipality of Turin then illustrated the next interventions in the last section of the railway link to be redeveloped, in the spaces derived from the railroad cover, between via Breglio and Corso Grosseto, and in the carriageway east of corso Venezia. There will be a traffic light intersection in corso Grosseto and a connection of the east cross road of corso Venezia with via Boccherini – he explained.
The City has been awarded 10 million euros for the works, divided into two lots: the first lot has already been contracted, which concerns Corso Venezia and provides for the connection with Turin-Caselle; the executive design was carried out for the second lot and the works, already financed, will soon be procured. Work has already been done in the area of the Anas junction – he said – where the junction of Corso Grosseto towards Piazza Rebaudengo has been put back into operation (it is not yet open towards the Turin-Caselle motorway). The entrance to the Torino-Caselle will then take place from Corso Venezia.
In March – he continued – a first direction of Turin-Caselle will open towards Corso Venezia. In a second phase of construction, from via Fossata you will no longer enter Corso Venezia, but only exit towards via Ala di Stura / Corso Grosseto. The exit from Corso Venezia to enter the Turin-Caselle will then be completed by June 30th.
