SM Caen – Stéphane Moulin: “I would like players to be rewarded more often than they are”
Stéphane Moulin, coach of SM Caen : It’s complicated to do the analysis tonight because we really mastered the first half in particular. As often at half-time, we have to go home with an advantage but unfortunately we are at zero-zero. And we concede a goal from elsewhere and then we obviously expose ourselves, it’s no longer the same match at all. We probably had to be in front but on a technique that lacked justice.
The statistics are there to say it. Eighteen shots to eight. For an away team that’s huge but only three shots on target. For them out of eight it’s not bad but for us out of eighteen, it’s not enough. It’s a defeat that does not call into question the content because we presented the meeting well and we showed control. Afterwards, the corn changed everything as it often does and we weren’t able to come back. It’s infuriating to lose because I think on points we should have won. These are stories that repeat themselves so often that I feel like I’m repeating myself. and yet in the way of playing and of approaching the meeting, I do not have much to reproach the players.
When we come out of this game, we just feel frustrated. I honestly wish players were rewarded more often than they are. Because tonight they made the match. On return disappointed with the result. Now I repeat, on what we proposed this evening, we are not going to change our path because it is the right one despite the defeat.
