Navy coordinates two rescues off the coast of Lisbon — DNOTICIAS.PT
The Navy carried out, between Friday and today, two medical rescues of two people who were on board a passenger ship, and who would be removed by helicopter, was released today.
The two people met aboard the ship Mein Schiff1, about 400 kilometers southwest of Lisbon, according to the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center in a statement.
The first person, a 73-year-old man of German nationality, was rescued on Friday and taken off in an Air Force helicopter, after having narrowed a stroke (Cerebral Vascular Accident).
The rescue operation of a 63-year-old woman from the same trip indicated a clinical condition.
The Navy, through the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centers in Lisbon and Ponta Delgada and the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Subcenter in Funchal, has already coordinated, during this year, more than 60 search and rescue actions, from which resulted in 116 people saved.
