VILLENEUVE-LEZ-AVIGNON Discover the Chartreuse with your family during the winter holidays
During the winter holidays, the Chartreuse reception team organizes several thematic visits to do with the family. Here is the schedule.
Visits for children:
– Wednesdays February 23 and March 2 (prices €6 / adult and €3 / child). Discover the life of monks in the Middle Ages. What were their homes and daily life like? How was the monastery built 700 years ago?
– The Chartreuse in small steps (3-6 years old), at 10:30 a.m. (duration 45 min). A little surprise offered to each child at the end of the visit.
– The visit-snack of the Chartreuse (7-12 years old), at 2:30 p.m. (duration 1 hour 30 minutes). discovery tour followed by a snack at Café Saint-Jean
For both visits, children must be accompanied and will be under the responsibility of their parents (maximum two adults per child).
Thematic visits:
– Sundays 20, 27 February and 6 March, at 11 a.m. (usual entry price + €1)
– The origins of the ChartreuseSundays February 20 and March 6: a walk in the heart of the 14th century Chartreuseand century in the footsteps of Innocent VI and his heirs. Before being a monastery, the Chartreuse was first a cardinal’s palace then a pontifical palace. Through the masterpieces and vestiges of this period, come and discover the history of this transformation as closely as possible.
– The Chartreuse over the centuries, Sunday February 27: at the foot of Mont Andaon and in the shadow of Fort Saint-André, the Charterhouse of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon has known several lives until today. A guided tour to discover its riches.
