The Association of Slovak Hospitals threatens to terminate VšZP contracts
“We consider the offer of the health insurance company to be liquidating. The proposal not only does not cover legitimate claims from valid hospitals, which result from salary legislation to increase staff salaries and legal costs associated with energy growth or inflation, but it is in many cases significantly lower than the current contract. volume “,” stated the director of the ANS office Miroslav Valaštík. As a result of the ANS members’ proposal, they were unable to pay wages to medical staff.
In this context, the ANS calls on the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, to co-finance the Ministry of Health. “Since declaring the health insurance company that you have received the state budget does not cover the legitimate claims of hospitals,” Valaštík stated.
The VšZP offer is also criticized by the non-parliamentary Hlas-SD party. “At a time of record inflation, when energy alone is rising by tens of percent and hundreds of health workers are leaving for better earnings abroad, it is unthinkable for a state insurance company to offer hospitals less for treatment than in the previous year.” stated the party’s deputy chairman Richard Rashi.
VšZP considers the ANS statement to be premature and unjustified. The state insurance company recalled that at the end of January the association submitted a proposal to adjust the contractual relationship this year. “During the meeting, it was agreed to send official comments on this proposal, which the ANS has not implemented so far” Eva Peterová from the VšZP communication department told TASR.
She added that the insurance company is an open meeting. “Our goal is to agree and ensure affordable and quality health care for our policyholders and at the same time the same segment of institutional health care for the effective provision of health care,” added Peter.
