Portugal with all regions with Rt below 1 and average infections drops to 17 thousand
Despite the improvement in pandemic indicators, all regions still have an incidence rate of more than 960 cases per 100 million inhabitants in 14 days.
All regions of the country have a SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus transmissibility index (Rt) of less than 1, and the average number of daily infections has dropped from over 31,000 to around 17,000.
According to the weekly report, the epidemic curve of the Instituto de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA), released this Tuesday, with seven regions presented at a value below the threshold of 1 on average to five days of Rt, an indicator that estimates the number of cases secondary infections resulting from a person carrying the virus that causes covid-19.
In relation to the last report, the Rt in the North dropped from 0.85 to 0.67, with this region having the lowest value, in the Center from 0.95 to 0.76, in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo from 0.87 to 0.75, in Alentejo from 0.96 to 0.85 and in Algarve from 0.96 to 0.86.
In relation to the sometimes autonomous regions, the Azores are now also with an Rt below 1.02 for growth from 1.02 to 1.02 to 0.74 -, while Madeira recorded an Rt from 0.74 to 0.74 .
According to the reduction of the INSA, the media of daily cases of infection in the last five days changed a significant national, going from the 31,558 of the last report to the current 17,014 at the level.
