Hospitalized and falling incidence in day with 51 deaths
The Epidemiological Bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) indicates that Portugal recorded 15,482 new cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The Lisbon and Tagus Valley region recorded the highest number of cases, with 5272 new infections, followed by the North (4073), Center (3014), Algarve (1021), Alentejo (926), Azores (650) and Wood (526).
This Friday’s report (February 18) also mentions that 51 more people died due to infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
Most deaths were recorded in the North (19) and Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (13), followed by Centro (7), Algarve (5), Alentejo (4), Azores (2) and Madeira (1).
Regarding the situation of hospitals, there are now 1936 hospitalized (86 less than the previous day), of which 127 are in intensive care units (5 less), with more than 36,710 cases of people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. .
On the day of updating the values of the risk matrix, an increase in probability remains, with 3853.1 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants at the national level and 3833.4 infections on the continent. On Wednesday, the figures were, respectively, at 4390.9 and 4385.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants nationally and on the continent.
The transmissibility index, R(), dropped again, now standing at 0.74 across the entire territory (was 0.76) and 0.73 on the mainland (was 0.75).
Portugal now accounts for 516,890 active cases of covid-19, 21,279 less than the previous day.
