Ethiopia and Slovenia agree to strengthen ties – New Business Ethiopia
On the sidelines of the 6th European Union-African Union summit, which began today in Brussels, Belgium, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed agreed with Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa to strengthen ties with joint cooperation in agriculture and education.
The two leaders also agreed to strengthen general economic and diplomatic ties between the two countries, said State Minister Selamawit Kassa, who spoke to state media – the Ethiopian News Agency.
It is announced that Prime Minister Janez Janša, because Slovenia intends to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2024, called on Ethiopia to support its government’s plan.
Prime Minister Abiy also thanked the Government of Slovenia for its support to Ethiopia in the European Union. He also suggested that Slovenia open its embassy in Ethiopia.
In this regard, Prime Minister Abiy also met with the Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva and shared views on the Ethiopian economy. According to him, Abiy also met with the German leader and exchanged views.
