Spain will go to Portugal on a group day to host 2 of the Football Nations League, on June 2, at Benito Villamarín Stadium, the home of Betis de Seville, informed the Royal Spanish Federation (RFEF) this Thursday.
It was already known that Seville would be the stage of the game, under an agreement between the RFEF and the Junta de Andalusia, but the Spanish football organization found itself changing stadiums, opting for Betis’ in favor of the Olympic Stadium.
It was planned that this first game in the League of Nations would be at La Cartuja, but the stadium will host a concert a few days later, so Benito Villamarín will host the national team again three and a half years later.
La Roja’s last game at home to Betis was also in a group stage of the League of Nations, with the Spanish team losing against England, 3-2.
In the League of Nations, Spain and Portugal also have the Czech Republic and Switzerland as accessories in group 2.
On matchday three at the beginning of June, Spain still visit the Czechs and Swiss, and Portugal hosts Switzerland and then the Czech Republic, with matchday two on 5th and third on 9.
