Licei, Venice is the province with the most members. Pupils falling in elementary and middle school
Venice, capital of high schools. At least in Veneto where the province in which, as a percentage, they welcome more students. In recent days, enrollments in high schools have closed: 6,399 middle school students have chosen their studies for the next five years and more than half (51.8) have opted for a high school. Specifically, 3,312 young people enrolled in a high school, 2,332 in a technician, 701 in a professional and 54 in three-year IeFp courses. The percentage of high schools is the highest in the whole of Veneto where it stands at 47.4 and also in countertrend because enrollments in the region are decreasing, in Venice the trend is increasing: +1 percent (the figure, however, below the national average where they were chosen by 56.6). The particularity of Venice linked to its economic fabric – explains Luigina Pappagallo, coordinator of the Orione Network which proposes orientation paths – not a territory with an industrial vocation like other provinces. And this reverberates on the choices of the guys who in other areas they are more inclined to technicians and professionals because they know they easily work. Venice remains the Venetian province where the largest number of students, 4.2 per cent, choose the Classico which continues due to its negative trend: it has lost 0.6% of students. The most chosen applied remains the scientific science course (12.1 per cent), one hundred perceived as a cross between a high school and a technician which would leave the university doors open while providing, at the same time, training that can be immediately used for work.
The pandemic effect on linguisticians
Liceo Scientifico falls (by 0.5), collecting 8.6 per cent of enrollments; while the linguistic is recovering (only in Venice) which, after the fall of last year, registers the most significant increase, recovering one point and reaching 9 per cent of the enrollments. The decline was linked to the pandemic that blocked travel and put uncertainty on a path associated with the possibility of going abroad – continues Parrot – a small sign of recovery of confidence, but we are waiting for next year to see if it consolidates. And indeed the international scientific high school of Chinese language proposed, for the first year, by Foscarini did not take off. Overall, the institute has increased enrollments – explains the chairman Massimo Zane – unfortunately we have not had enough to activate the new address but to propose it again. Exploit (+0.8 per cent) of the sports scientific high school which sells at 2.8. At the Stefanini there were 28 places available for the address but 55 applications were received which forced a degree.
Technicians and professionals
On the technical and professional front, which in Veneto collect more registrations than in all the rest of Italy (added together they reach the region at 52.6 per cent), in Venice the former collected just over a third of the preferences, the latter l ’11, 4
. Except at the regional level, for a discourse that is always linked to the production context. In Venice, however, the professionals are growing slightly, while the technical-economic ones are down (he lost two and a half points, down to 13.9), with a slight increase in technology (at 22.7 per cent). The former lose in favor of the latter who at this stage seem to guarantee more job opportunities, concludes Pappagallo. The data are part of a worrying phenomenon: the loss of pupils linked to the demographic winter. Enrollments in middle and elementary schools have also closed. Il Veneziano, one of the provinces that has the smallest decline by registering a minus 711 pupils enrolled in the first year between primary and secondary schools (minus 241 in the primary).
