Sweden came just below in the gold medal game to the USA (7-10) for only their third loss during the last two Winter Olympics together:
In their three matches so far in round-robin games, Canada is 2-1 with a difference of 19-15 points. Apart from Sweden (3-0, 22-11 points difference) it is the best in the field so far.
Canada beat Denmark (10-5) in a strong show and started playing round-robin and followed it up with a win over Norway (6-5).
Through two matches, it looked like Canada had found its track and was back on track for the podium.
Then they really fought against a strong, defensive bronze medal team in Switzerland (3-5) in their first loss. Back in 2018, Canada also lost against Switzerland (6-8) and against Sweden (2-5) in round-robin games.
The Swedish team is as strong a team as it is curling for men who go 10-2 (7-2 last year) in round-robin games in their last 12 matches and then 1-1 in the playoffs and lost in the gold medal game. This will be a huge match for both teams and the tournament as a whole.
