Thessaloniki: Silent protest of students at the spot where Alkis was killed
Students gathered at the spot where Alkis Kampanos was assassinated on Friday afternoon, in a silent protest against the violence.
“In the place of Alki could be each of us, our friend, his friends,” said Orestis Lappas, a 19-year-old fellow student, who lost his life after being attacked by hooligans in the early hours of February 1 on Th. Gazi, in the area of Charilaou.
“Through silence today we reiterate our condemnation of this heinous murder and declare that fear will not prevail, this cycle of violence must end here and now. We demand the exemplary punishment of the perpetrators and we are here to lay a flower in the memory of our colleague “, said the student of the Law Department Tassos Papadopoulos.
“This situation will not become normal, the student associations throughout the next period and we as students will stand against these practices and anyone who covers them,” added Sofia Hatzopoulou, a student at the Department of History-Archeology.
The Coordinating Committee of Students of Thessaloniki also participated in the mobilization organized by student groups of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
