The Saint-Bénézet bridge in Avignon hit by a truck for the fourth time
Under the bridge of Avignon, on bumps, on bumps…! To pay the fourth time in three years, a truck traveling on the road along the banks of the Rhône hit the Saint-Bénézet bridge at midday on Thursday. Indicator signs prohibiting access to the road for oversized trucks are nevertheless well installed upstream to avoid new untimely collisions.
The city will carry out an inspection of the work
Once again, the damage caused is significant and clearly visible. A part of the vehicle even remained embedded in stone! The municipal services carried out the cleaning of the roadway.
An inspection mission will be integrated in the very next few days in order to measure the extent of the damagetheir consequences on the structure of the work and on traffic around the ramparts, in the event of emergency work to be undertaken.
