Free Now electric vehicles in Portugal doubled in 2021 and Lisbon was “queen” these trips in Europe
Free Now, a mobility services company, has twice as many electric vehicles on Portuguese roads in 2021, and Lisbon stood out as the city with the most electric vehicles in the entire European operation. A technology that the brand sees, for now, as the most promising for decarbonization goals.
The 99% jump in the number of electric vehicles from Free Now in Portugal is accompanied by an average increase of 69% in trips of this type, comparing 2021 to 2020. In this way, electric vehicles already account for 15% in the total fleet of this brand. In Lisbon, 13% of the total vehicles in the fleet are electric, in Porto it is 19% and in Faro it is 9%.
In the rise in the number of electric companies, which was more fleets from Free Now – 199% at Free Now, which presented data contained in the report “Mobility as a Service 2022”, it should be noted that Portugal already had a relevant base.
“Now, we can build more of the fleet, meeting the company, meeting the company, neutrality, a few years of rapid growth in 2030, says Bruno Borges, noting that technology develops very quickly in 2030. and, as such, the options are open.
Questioned by journalists about the electric charging network in Portugal, Bruno Borg has to make a very big effort in the coming years, in order to distribute the stations equitably in urban areas.
In 2021, despite the pandemic, the total number of Free Now trips grew across Europe (up by more than a third). In Portugal, this growth was 39%, reaching 40% when the analysis focuses only on Taxi and TVDE.
The expletive is now “multimobility”
Mobility using several different types of transport, called multimobility, should be a market worth 300 billion euros by 2030, expects Free Now. According to it, 59% of Portuguese people want a mobile application (app) that brings together all the means of transport, but only 22% know they exist. In 2021, the number of users using more than one vehicle through the Free Now platform increased by 27%.
Aware of this trend, Free Now announces 10 new partnerships at European level for 2022, which will allow it to assert itself as a multimobility platform with the greatest number and variety of means available to European users.
“In Europe, for a certain number of deadlines, there will be no customized or different models for each one”, that is, each trip, with the payment of a certain number of transport according to the use of the type of customer.
Ultimately, a mobility as a service is “extremely important” with a contact time that 95% of private cars remain parked and, according to estimates by Free Now, a city with fully shared mobility 90% of vehicles. In order to achieve the objective, a “positive discrimination of the east transport means”, accredited by the same manager, is necessary.
