Curling session 1 for men: Sweden, Canada, Norway opens the Olympics with wins

A steal of two in the fourth gave Sweden a lead that they would not let go in a 6-4 win over China.
Sweden, the defending Olympic silver medalists, led 3-1 at halftime.
China stole one point in the sixth, and scored two in the eighth to reduce Sweden’s lead to one, 5-4, on their way to the final.
Without stones in the 4-footer for any of the teams, Sweden had a simple shot to the button for another point in the tenth and a win.
China will next meet ROC on Thursday at 01:05 ET.
Sweden will return to the ice on Thursday at 01:05 ET to take on Team USA in a rematch for the 2018 Olympic gold medal game.
Canada 10, Denmark 5 (8 ends)
Canada scored three in the third, but Denmark responded with two in the fourth and tied the score at 4-4.
The Canadians responded with one in the fifth and a steal of two in the sixth.
Canada finished with a double takeout in the round of 16 which gave them three points and forced Denmark to concede the rest of the match.
Canada will next meet Norway on Thursday at 01:05 ET.
Denmark plays against China at 19:00 ET on Thursday.
Norway 7, Switzerland 4
It was all a one-point finish early until two points from Norway in the ninth helped the team to a 7-4 victory over Switzerland.
Norway scored one in each of the second and fifth goals and continued to steal one point immediately after both.
With the score drawn 4-4 into the ninth, Norway landed a second stone in the 4-foot on its last throw, and a measurement showed not only where that stone was closer than Switzerland, but Norway’s second stone on the opposite side of the 4-foot was also, giving them two points and a 2-point lead into the final end.
Switzerland tried to get a big shot on the last throw in the 10th, but failed, which allowed Norway to steal another point for the 3-point win.
Norway next plays Canada on Thursday at 1:05 ET.
Switzerland plays on Thursday at 19 ET against Switzerland.
