Asmik Grigorian sings for butterfly children

The Golling Festival presented its program on Tuesday. In addition to music, comedy, readings and top-class instrumentalists, there is also a good cause: opera star Asmik Grigorian gives a concert at the Salzburg special clinic for butterfly children.
This year’s motto of the summer festival at Golling Castle (Tennengau) is “Moments of Pleasure”. There will be a few of these for the visitors again this year.
“Treats” for every taste in culture
The festival summer will be opened by star violinist Benjamin Schmid and his wife, pianist Ariane Haering. The two perform together with their four children. The “family program” ranges from Vivaldi to current pop music. Soprano Milena Arsovska comes solo with musical images on the subject of night. And cabaret artist Alfred Dorfer and mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager let classic meet comedy.
Light and Darkness and the Golling Festival support charity
One of the highlights is the appearance of the Lithuanian opera star Asmik Grigorian, who shines as “Salome” at the Salzburg Festival in 2019. She waives her fee and will donate the concert proceeds, together with the Golling Festival and Licht ins Dunkel association, to the special clinic for butterfly children in Salzburg. It is her second charity appearance at the Golling Festival. “When I see someone surprised, I feel the pain. A high sensitivity as an artist is my motivation for charity. I just have to do it,” says the soprano.
Incidentally, the Golling Festival is weatherproof this year. “We span the Döllerer Garden with a sail that also holds up in a thunderstorm,” says Hermann Döllerer, restaurateur and founder of the Golling Festival.
