Slovakia does not discuss NATO troops. The fate of the agreement with the United States is not yet clear
Guests of the show Braňo Závodský Live was today Prime Minister Eduard Heger. He confirmed that this Wednesday the government will come up with a solution that should help people who feel the increase in energy prices. He confirmed that this solution should also apply to flats not connected to central heat producers.
In the show, the Prime Minister also briefly addressed Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka. He commented, for example, on his relationship with the opposition, noting that Zilinka should call on the opposition to stop treating his name as if it were their human being. Heger emphasized the same in a letter stating that the move had only succeeded.
The Defense Council will discuss the Defense Agreement with the United States tomorrow, and Heger said he hoped the treaty would have sufficient support. Parliament must say that it will not go away when it comes to the security of the Slovak Republic. At the same time, he hopes that all MEPs will vote for the treaty.
Whether this will really happen is questionable, as some Members have had a problem with the treaty. “I believe it will pass. The presence of NATO troops will be discussed when it is on the table, ” stated.
Heger concluded that the treaty is a framework and that the presence of troops is always the subject of parliamentary deliberations. The myths that are spreading are not based on truth. “Everything that is currently being addressed is in the interest of the protection of the citizens of Slovakia,” he added.
