Ex-KAC, Linz and HC Innsbruck coach has lost his job – Hockey-News.info
The Augsburg Panthers are drawing the conclusions from the course of the season so far and are releasing head coach Mark Pederson and his assistant Pierre Beaulieu from their duties with immediate effect.
The two Canadians took over the PENNY DEL club at the beginning of a season that has been marked by many bumps so far. Above all, numerous game cancellations and postponements ensure that the Augsburg Panthers never found their rhythm and were not able to consistently perform.
There was no further development and tabular improvement in the current eleventh. With 19 clear main round games left, those responsible now want to give new impetus, make the team more responsible and ensure a turnaround.
Lothar Sigl, managing partner of Panther on the personnel decision: “I would like to introduce myself to Mark Pederson and Pierre Beaulieu for their hard and meticulous work. It was a difficult decision on a personal level, both identified 100% with our club, were a perfect match for us in terms of character and always subordinated everything to the success of the team. Even if changing coaches during the current season has rarely been our style in the club’s history, we see a need for action at this stage of the season. We urgently need results to achieve our goals as quickly as possible. We wish Mark and Pierre all the best for their sporting and private future.”
The presentation of the new coach will follow shortly, the last details still have to be clarified. The new head coach will be behind the boards for the next game on February 13th in Iserlohn and will lead his first training sessions at the Curt Frenzel Stadium this week.
