THE BALL – Portugal beats Russia with a comeback and is two-time European champion (Futsal)
Portugal beat Russia (4-2), in the final of the European Futsal Championship. Jorge Braz’s team revalidated the title won in 2018.
Sokolov (10′) and Afanasyev (13′) put the Russians ahead. However, Tomás Paçó (19′), André Coelho (27′ and 32′) and Pany Varela (40′) sealed the Portuguese comeback.
With this result, Portugal added its second European title and equaled the feat of Spain, by managing to win two consecutive European Championships (2005 and 2007). The National Team, remember, had already won the World Cup last year in Lithuania.
