Little Switzerland offers winter fun for young and old
SLINGER, Wis. – Little Switzerland is the place to be this winter whether you are an experienced skier or want to learn how to shred the slopes.
Little Switzerland can be a family destination all year round, but in winter it’s a very special place. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you can learn how to hit the slopes from some of the best.
“We have advanced skiers and riders of all levels, but a lot of people learn to ski and snowboard here,” said Rick Schmitz, co-owner. “Not a day goes by that we walk past a customer who has been skiing here for maybe 20 years and say that he remembers learning here.”
Little Switzerland hosts many events throughout the year. Two of them, taking place on February 12th, benefit a good cause.
“We have our Big Air for Care and our Cheese Shred,” says Schmitz. “It’s two events in one and proceeds from these events raise money for ALS Wisconsin as well as money for a local family, the Harringtons, who are fighting ALS in their family.”
As much as skiing is a sport, Little Switzerland is all about community.

“Skiing and snowboarding is a big part,” says Schmitz. “It’s the center of everything, but it’s really about the community and being in the snow with people.”
