Elego. There is no lack of the left, there is no lack of people on the left
“The left is missing in the San Marino political panorama!” These are the statements made on social media by the Secretary of State Pedini Amati and on which we can only in small part agree with him. And if on the one hand we agree, on the other it is embarrassing that it is precisely one of the external secretaries of state who should instead represent a left-wing coalition, that of “We for the Republic”, a list formed by the Party of Socialists and Democrats and by the Socialist Party and which is part of the ruling majority. So is there really a lack of leftists or, on the other hand, is there a lack of leftists? Perhaps this is the right reflection! The columns of the secretary Pedini inevitably lead us to make assessments not only on his reflections, but also on the birth of NPR and the divisions that now afflict the list (born in the recent electoral consultation) which are evident and under the eyes of the population and in particular of the many voters who recognized themselves in a left close to the citizens and who today witness an indecent spectacle. A coalition that by its nature is of the left, but that in the last elections achieved its only goal: that of being part of the government at all costs. He succeeded, but to do what.? Ēlego can only point out, as he did during the election campaign of the recent consultation, that the NPR list was born at the last minute, not on ideas, on an ideology, on those ideals and those social values, but born only on people and on numbers, with the sole purpose of occupying that chair, effectively creating a “Poltronificio” and not a political entity with indispensable projects for a country in decline. This has been evident from the beginning of the legislature to today. A hard two-year period certainly proved by the previous economic difficulties of the country and by the advent of the pandemic, in which NPR is not only non-existent, but which has ideas that it does not have and does not have a historical political identity, which it should have. He has shown this several times, just think for example of certain utterances made during the referendum on the voluntary termination of pregnancy, to understand that NPR does not have a left-wing identity. But to go even more socially, it is enough to look at the contributions in support of families, businesses and the weakest who have not found an answer several times. Even the categories present in the area have not been protected. But Secretary Pedini should say why NPR is not effective in its government and majority action; why NPR is not a left party, which on paper are PSD and PS. What were the divisions and why are there, but above all why do you continue to remain in your seats when the conditions are no longer there.? Who better than those who sit in the benches of the majority can carry out certain policies? On the other hand, from its birth to today, precisely due to a lack of ideologies and ideas, we have not found that Socialist and left-wing tradition of San Marino even in the Secretary Pedini. Let’s forget about NPR, which perhaps Pedini does not remember, in fact, even if disguised, within the two parties Councilors who come from other political realities, because they are not from the left, have been elected. Internal splits, on the one hand the Socialist Party, if it still exists, not only loses pieces, but unfortunately it has finished its journey, trying to give life to a “jar” called “SocialBerti”; on the other, a PSD with the MDSI, (Movement of Pedini) dusted off for convenience immediately after the 2019 elections, divided at home, but woe to talk about it. In fact, you never know that the fateful armchair in the Palazzo Pubblico will be lost. Dear Secretary, you said well, where is the left and what can be done to make it re-emerge from the depths of the abyss! We believe that the left needs to be led by people with those values and ideals of reformist socialism, who base their principles on service to the country and not chase the chair at all costs, as has appeared lately. As mentioned, Secretary, although it seems to us that the left has a weak voice, what is missing are the men who can fully represent a true center-left. You secretary declared that he is ready to speak, does he feel isolated by chance, not so much within the Executive, but in his hypothetical List? It hurts to admit it, but this is the harsh reality.
