Chris Jones scores 28 points as ASVEL beat Strasbourg

After the trip to Turkey containing two EuroLeague defeats for Turkish Airlines, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne bounced back to defeat SIG Strasbourg, 86-81, at the Astroballe on Sunday.
Chris Jones scored 10 of 17 field goals totaling a game-high 28 points in round 19 of the Betclic Elite LNB Pro A regular season. Elie Okobo (shoulder), William Howard (knee), Victor Wembanyama (shoulder), Raymar Morgan (back) and Antoine Diot sat out, and Kostas Antetokounmpo didn’t play, but David Lighty (hand) returned to action with four points in 19 minutes.
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv loanee Kameron Taylor recorded a team-high 18 points for the Basketball Champions League exit, falling to 9-8 domestically.
AS Monaco had just picked up a couple of EuroLeague away wins this week and beat BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque, 97-85, back at Salle Gaston Medecin. Donta Hall stood out with 18 points, while Mike James contributed 16 points, Yakuka Ouattara 15 points, Alpha Diallo 12 points and Paris Lee ten points.
La Roca Team holding Leo Westermann (thigh) on the injured list, moved to 12-6 in the French League. Brock Motum, Donatas Motiejunas, Danilo Andjusic and Rob Gray were inactive for the team led by Sasa Obradovic.
Former Penn State standout Brandon Taylor recorded a team-high 19 points for the visitors constrained to 9-9. Former Monaco player Abdoulaye N’Doye followed with 15 points.
LNB leading team Boulogne Metropolitans 92 beat Le Mans, 82-69, and improved to 15-3. Explosive guard Keith Hornsby drained six triples en route to a game-high 22 points.
