Applications open for new IFT-Malta Award in Clinical Supervision
The Institute of Family Therapy – Malta (IFT-Malta) is currently accepting applications for its upcoming Award in Clinical Supervision, which training is due to start this spring. Intensive training is divided into six six-month weekend blocks, from April to October 2022, with a break during the month of August.
The A1 course is one of the most recent and successful inclusions in IFT-Malta’s training portfolio which has been attracting professionals since the institute’s inception in 2010.
The Clinical Supervision Award is designed to help practitioners develop a wide range of skills, namely, theoretical knowledge of supervisory practice and processes; refining supervisory skills; the integration of advanced theory and skills; the ability to assess and evaluate clinical supervision; effective management of influencing factors during supervision; enhancing the developing professional identity of the supervisor; knowledge and attention to the wider context; and the development of an ethical practice in supervision.
Upon successful completion, participants will be qualified to act as supervisors in accordance with training criteria recognized and respected by local, European and international bodies. The training, like all other IFT-Malta courses, is accredited by the MFHEA and complies with the standards of practice of supervision of European psychotherapy associations and international psychotherapy associations.

In addition, it fully meets the supervisory training criteria of the Malta Psychotherapy Profession Board. All IFT-Malta courses are also entitled to local funding schemes.
