1860 Munich: Lions leave important points in the promotion race – football
There was more in it!
Third division team 1860 Munich played 2-2 (2-0) against Eintracht Braunschweig, leaving two important points in the race for promotion places. And the eleven of coach Michael Köllner (52) have to recognize again: A good half-time is not enough!
The lions start after four wins in a row with a lightning goal, Marcel Bär scores his 10th goal of the season (3rd minute) against his former club after preliminary work by captain Stefan Lex and Richard Neudecker.
1860 determines the game, the offensive forces shine. Again it’s Lex and Neudecker who are the congenial magicians, defender Phillipp Steinhart scores to make it 2-0 (34th).
Wind gusts of up to 80 km/h sweep through the Grünwalder Stadium (finally with 3750 spectators again).
After the break, the lead is blown away by the wind and both points die: Braunschweig’s lion (lion!) Lauberbach (56th) makes the connection, after Hiller-Patzer Jan-Hendrik Marx makes it 2: 2 (78th).
Even the majority situation from the 97th minute (Behrendt saw yellow-red) brought nothing more to the Munich lions.
1860 coach Michael Köllner on Magenta TV: “It’s important that we didn’t lose, but after a 2-0 lead, that’s just stupid.”
