The L’Estaca quarto at the Jean-Ferrat cultural center
The Avignon Opera presents two shows, at the Jean-Ferrat cultural center and at the Saint-Didier collegiate church in Avignon.
Sunday February 6 at 4 p.m., at the pole, L’Estaca, a vocal quartet composed of Saeid Alkhouri, Pascal Canitrot, Julien Desplantes, Cyril Héritier, Simon Calamel, narrator, Ange Gilles and Inès Martinez, guitars, will perform a program dedicated to traditional songs Basque, Corsican, Syrian and Provençal. The meeting of these cultures allows sharing and thus creates a chain of friendship, of which music is the central link. Price: from €6.
Tuesday February 8, at 8.30 p.m., at the Saint-Didier collegiate church in Avignon, Ekhô Chœur de chambre, a young ensemble from Montpellier, which wishes, through this Nordic program, to introduce composers from Northern Europe, who, from an ancient and very rich choral tradition, today knows how to write for choir using the full range and dynamics of the singing voice. An initiatory journey at the crossroads between the aerial sounds of Arvo Pärt, the improvisational games of Gunnar Eriksson, the dissonant and captivating sounds of Knut Nystedt, and the generous polyphony of Lauridsen or Sibelius. Price: from €8.
