Ice hockey – ICE: Znojmo beats Innsbruck, east trip without points – winter sports
Znojmo – Saturday, 02/05/2022, 20:26
Nothing will happen with the “sweep” against HC Znojmo! HC Innsbruck is defeated by the Czechs for the first time in their fourth duel of the season. In the 46th round of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League it was a 2:3 for the “Haie”, who returned empty-handed from the East trip after the 3:5 in Vienna on Friday.
The game then begins to measure for the guests. At the beginning only HCI played, so Dostie scored his sixth goal in the last six games in the sixth minute. Out of nowhere, however, Filip Ahl (10th) equalized with a deflection, before the first third was spoiled with many penalties.
In the second section, Znaim gets stronger. Although Luciani missed a penalty against McCollum (27′), the hosts managed to take the lead on the power play (31′) thanks to Prokes. But this lead does not last either, Bourque ensures the tie before the last third (38th).
When the game can go both ways, Innsbruck affords cheap penalties – which take revenge: Culkon scores on the power play to win (53′).
Innsbruck (11th, 1.43 point average) misses the opportunity to attack the pre-playoff places, Znaim (7th/1.53) pushes dangerously close to the fixed playoff places.
