Ex-LR Bruno Gilles appointed head of Edouard Philippe’s party in Marseille
This Saturday, “Horizons, the party”, is part of the appointment of Bruno Gilles, senator from Bouches-du-Rhône to structure Edouard Philippe’s party in Marseille.
“In the weeks and months to come, we will take part in the presidential election and the legislative elections in Marseille to build a new parliamentary majority”reacted Bruno Gilles following this appointment.
Bruno Gilles, a former strongman of the Marseille right enlisted with the Republicans, left the party when in 2019, the nomination for the municipal elections was given to Martine Vassal, president LR of the Aix-Marseille Metropolis.
In 2020, Bruno Gilles, emblematic mayor of the 3rd sector, recognized his defeat in his stronghold against the Marseillais spring candidate, Michèle Rubirola who obtained 56.99% of the votes, against 28.88%.

Currently senator for Bouches-du-Rhône, Bruno Gilles, joined the party created in October 2021 by Edouard Philippe, former prime minister; “Horizons le parti”, has not become the representative since this Saturday in Marseille.
According to the party statement, Bruno Gilles, “will have the mission of structuring and federating, around him and his team, the political party created by Mr Edouard Philippe“.
“It is with determination that alongside Anthony Borré, our regional referent, I will make available to this new political force my experience and my desire, intact, to bring together the Marseillaises and the Marseillais to defend and carry the values right and center“, explains Bruno Gilles.
Anthony Borré is the first deputy mayor of Nice, former chief of staff of Christian Estrosi who also joined Horizons at the beginning of December.
And that’s by referring to “the heritage of Jacques Chirac, Philippe Seguin, Alain Juppé and Nicolas Sarkozy, of which we are depositaries“, that Bruno Gilles announces “take part in the presidential election and the legislative elections in Marseille to build a new parliamentary majority“.
This new party “is independent of the Republic in March“, warns Bruno Gilles, present at the founding congress of the party alongside Edouard Philippe in Le Havre on October 9.
“He is at the center-right of the political spectrum, and will support the candidacy of Emmanuel Macron if he runs for president in 2022”, adds the senator.
“Horizons le partie”, must be one of the components of the presidential majority”, announces Bruno Gilles.
If he thinks of standing for legislative elections in the constituency where he was elected, Bruno Gilles announces all the same “do nothing forbid”.
