SM Caen: do not revive the red lantern
Beaten at home against Niort (0-2), the SM Caen moves to Nancy this Saturday with the objective of compensating outside the points left to Ornano. Stéphane Moulin will especially expect more consistency from his players and not to be generous defensively in favor of their opponents.
“We have just been beaten at home, explains the Caen coach, we had another big disappointment so I’m waiting for a reaction from us. A reaction, not imposed in the general content because it was well made, but that we behave like pros: do not make systematic errors that weigh us down every time our matches. There have been so many that I can’t even provide them.
I would like us to stop offering our adversaries what they offer us very little.
What I want is for us to rediscover the rigor we saw four days earlier against Ajaccio (2-0). Afterwards, when the opponent puts us in difficulty by his quality or because they have unbalanced or destabilized us, it happens. But I would like us to stop offering our opponents what they offer us little.”
An SM Caen more comfortable outside than at home…
Even if it remains on a defeat conceded in particular circumstances in Sochaux (3-2), Stade Malherbe has twelve points and only lost twice in ten moves. A figure to compare to the seven defeats conceded in front of his public.
….but far from having filled up the points against the badly classified.
So far, facing the badly classified, the Caen footballers have remained in line with last season. They only scored six points against the bottom five teams in the standings (One win and three draws for one defeat). Last season, they only took twelve points out of thirty contested against the worst teams in Ligue 2.
A success in Nancy could allow SM Caen to keep the Nancy away (definitively?) by pushing them back to thirteen points and to see the rest of the season in a more positive light.
