Portugal records 47,199 cases and 50 deaths. ICU patients with the highest increase in a year – Coronavirus
Portugal registers 47,199 more cases of covid-19 and 50 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the situation report released this Friday by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).
The North region concentrates the highest number of new cases in 24 hours (18,103), followed by the Lisbon and Tagus Valley regions, where there are 13,981 more infections.
Of the 50 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, 17 were recorded in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and 16 in the northern region of the country. With regard to hospitalizations, there is an increase both in inpatients and in patients in intensive care units (ICU). There are now 2,445 people hospitalized, five more in the last 24 hours, and there are 174 in intensive care, more than 19. This is the highest daily increase in hospitalizations in a year.
There are more than 46,469 people recovered from covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The number of active increases by 680.
Last Thursday, Portugal recorded 50,447 more cases of covid-19 and 53 deaths.
