David Majak: The striker sets the Tusker goal after returning from Sweden
Tusker striker David Majak has explained what his goal is after returning to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League team Tusker.
The South Sudanese national team player had signed for Kalmar of Sweden 2021 from the Kenyan outfit and his return saw him involved on Sunday when the Brewers registered a 1-0 victory over Bandari in a league meeting.
Builds slowly
“I felt really happy to be back on the pitch and playing. After a long time. Although it was not quite as stable as I would have liked, but getting out and competing was good enough for me.” Majak told the club’s portal.
Editor’s choice
“From here, I build slowly and put a little more shift on the training to get better. The most important thing for me at the moment is to get a match pass and contribute more in the form of goals and assists.
“I want to do as many as I can and I do not want to put a roof on myself. Last season before the trip I had scored four goals and I definitely want to do more.
“I have learned a lot during my time in Sweden and personally I feel that I have improved. I want to put everything I learned into practice with the team.”
Majak, 21, was loaned out by Kalmar to IF Luleå where he participated in 12 matches and scored three goals.
His return will strengthen the Tusker attacking division and provide more competition to Ibrahim Joshua, who was heavily dependent on the Caf Champions League, Confederation Cup and Premier League.
Majak’s revelation of his goals follows after Shaphan Oyugi said he would be happy to hit a goal of at least seven goals in the remaining matches of the season and as many assists as he can record.
“It has been very easy to settle in because when you go somewhere and see familiar faces, it becomes easier for you to adapt and get started. So far, it has gone well and I feel like I am in a family.” Oyugi told the club’s media department.
Oyugi, a former star of Chemelil Sugar, Biashara United and the Kariobangi Sharks, joined his former teammates Apollo Otieno, Brian Bwire and Daniel Sakari at Tusker.
