The City of Avignon is finalizing its cycle route development plan
Fifteenth city out of 128 in France with more than 50,000 inhabitants for daily cycling, Avignon is completing the complete creation of its cycling network as part of its Plan Faubourg. This ambitious project concerns a quadrilateral which goes from the ramparts of the city, in the north, to the ring road, in the south, bordered in the east by the avenue Pierre Semard and the boulevard Eisenhower in the west.
In its desire to reduce transit traffic and promote soft travel, the Planning and Mobility Department of the City of Avignon relies on its 190 km of existing cycle facilities and its SDIC project (Master plan for cycle routes) 210 km in total (of which 40% have already been completed) to finish with the dotted tracks. The details of the facilities indicated can be found in our interactive map:

The City plans to install 200 new parking hoops to complement the existing 1,595.
These projects are in addition to the 7 km already completed in 2021 and new greenways deployed by the Department of Vaucluse and Greater Avignon. Within three years, Avignon cyclists will no longer have anything to envy to those of Amsterdam.
