OM – Mercato: Milik
Coming into play only in the 86th minute of play, to replace Cengiz Ünder, during the surprising defeat of OM – Olympique de Marseille by Dimitri Payet and Mattéo Guendouzi against Lyon, Arkadiusz Milik (27) seems less and less entry into the plans of Jorge Sampaoli.
A delicate situation for the Polish international striker who had not finally left the Marseille club run by Pablo Longoria in January, when he had long been announced on the departure, like Boubacar Kamara, Duje Caleta-Car or even Bamba Dieng and Luis Henrique.
Asked about Arkadiusz Milik’s low playing time at OM this season, Jorge Sampaoli was rather cash in a press conference:
“We coaches are survivors in this profession and we are always looking to win. Collectively, I have already tested several tactical schemes at attacking level with different players, either with a striker or with Dimitri Payet who for me is a attacker.
For Arkadiusz Milik, the important thing is that he is complementary with the others and that he knows how to integrate into the Marseille collective. The most important thing for me is that OM win. The most important thing at Olympique de Marseille is not the names, Milik, Sampaoli, Payet, it doesn’t matter… It’s the victory that counts and we must all succeed together in achieving good results. Currently, the best are playing,” said Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli.
