Electric vehicle sales in Portugal grew 132% in January

In January 2022, according to ACAP data registered by officials, Portugal12 registered 141 motor vehicles (includes light vehicles, light vehicles) by the brand representatives, that is, operating light vehicles 3 percent less than in the same month of the previous year.
This less favorable behavior of the market, namely, in the 1 light vehicles that, with 11,723 units, fell 3.3 percentessentially reflects problems in deliveries due to the semiconductor crisis, refers to Associação Automóvel de Portugal in a statement.

Returning only to the numbers of light passenger vehicles, the AC indicates a drop of 2 percent, compared to 2021, which represents 9 829 units.

As shown in the counter, on January 22 there was an increase in 2 vehicles and alternative vehicles, namely electrified vehicles and LPG alternative vehicles. VThere is a 131.7 percent increase in electric vehicles (BEV – battery electric vehicles) compared to the same month in 2021.
