[Urgent] Emmanuel Macron is not going to Marseille next week
The President of the Republic will not come to Marseille next week, according to information from La Provence. For a few months, a possible arrival of the president between February 7 and 8 had been mentioned. Indeed, he had promised to return in February for a new stage point on his Marseille plan in a big way. It would have been his third trip to Marseille since the announcement of his big Marseille plan last September, after a second trip last October (see our article). Contacted by Gomet’, the press service of the Elysée nuance: “There was never any question of coming on February 7 and 8. We did not give a date. It is still too early to say whether the President of the Republic will be able to come this month, but that does not prevent him from following the Marseille file carefully..
Moreover, next week’s presidential agenda is already occupied by “busy international news”, we also specify on the side of the Elysée. always according to Provence, the Head of State could speak at the European summit of regions and cities which will take place on March 4 and 5 in Marseille. Information that is not proven by the Elysée.
Emmanuel Macron will participate in the Mediterranean Worlds Forum remotely
That’s not all: the President of the Republic could also have made an appearance at Parc Chanot on the occasion of the Mediterranean Worlds Forum, an event given to the peoples of the Mediterranean, which he himself had however taken the initiative of organizer. French Ambassador to the Mediterranean Karim Amellal explained to Gomet that the event was not intended to be political but was intended for civil society (see our article on this subject). The Elysée nevertheless confirms the participation of Emmanuel Macron in this forum, but at a distance.
