Portugal leads in intentions to purchase electric vehicles in the European Union
Portugal leads the way in purchase intentions for electric vehicles, with 84% of respondents allowing them to opt for a hybrid or electric in their next purchase, 17 percentage points above the European Union media, according to an EIB survey released on Tuesday.
This is a change from the measures adopted by the European Investment Bank (I) on the European Climate 2021-20, focused on individual citizens and on those they are adopting to combat climate change.
According to the EIB, “84% of car buyers in Portugal express the intention to opt for a hybrid or electric vehicle in the next purchase (17 percentage points above average), while 16% continue to prefer a gasoline vehicle or a close one. a diesel”.
Discriminately, 40% of electric respondents allow them to buy a hybrid vehicle, especially the youngest, and 44% a vehicle, which specifically interests buyers aged over 30.
Regarding all electric vehicles, buyers in Portugal more than citizens of other EU countries.

More than 30,000 people participated in the survey conducted between 26 August and 22 September 2021, with a representative panel from each of the surveys.
