politics | Info La Provence – Departmental: the election of the RN D’Angio-Dudieuzère binomial canceled in Marseille
According to our information, the election to the departmental of the binomial RN Sandrine D’Angio and Cédric Dudieuzère, in the canton Marseille-6 in June 2021, was canceled by the administrative court of Marseille.
In a decision dated today, the court, seized by the candidates LR Jean-Maurice Saal and Cécile Roure-Scogniamiglio (eliminated in the 1st round), considers that the delay of more than two hours in eight polling stations, affected that day by a defection of the presidents appointed by the town hall, “was likely to alter the results of the first round of voting and, consequently, the designation of the pairs of candidates admitted to stand in the second round. It is, therefore, likely to lead to the cancellation of the electoral operations of the first tour”.
Contacted by La Provence, Jean-Maurice Saal does not hide his satisfaction: “Justice has been served. I am so happy, so moved by this decision which allows citizens to finally be able to vote with complete peace of mind. I was at the initiative of this appeal out of respect for our voters , that we have no right to prevent from going to vote.” And to add:If ever an appeal is lodged, I think it will say a lot about those who felt they won these elections under totally unacceptable conditions. We do not have the right to flout the rights of voters.”
Funny detail: the RN candidate Sandrine D’Angio had publicly criticized, on June 20, the day of the first round, the fact that a series of offices in her canton had not opened at 8 a.m. Do his. In the first round, Jean-Maurice Saal and Cécile Roure-Scogniamiglio (LR) obtained 17.63% of the vote, finishing 4th and last behind the duo D’Angio-Dudieuzère (RN), with 43.65% of the vote, Hammou -Jardon (Ugec) with 19.75%, and Masse-Tranchida (LREM) 18.97%.
But only 238 votes separate the pair on the right from qualifying for the second round. This decision is a small clap of thunder in the local political environment. On the one hand, because it was the only victory obtained in the department by the party of Marine Le Pen during this election; on the other hand, because it points to the failures of the services of the City of Marseille, led by the PS mayor Benoît Payan, in the material organization of the ballot.
