the date of the report between Lyon and Marseille finally known
A little over two months after its interruption, the match between Lyon and OM has finally been rescheduled. This meeting of the 14th day of Ligue 1 will finally be replayed this Tuesday, February 1.
On December 8, the LFP Disciplinary Committee delivered its verdict. She notably withdrew a point from OL and ordered the match to be replayed behind closed doors, after the incidents that occurred at Groupama Stadium on November 21 and the throwing of a bottle at Dimitri Payet. But Olympique de Marseille had challenged the decision to play the game and decided to appeal. But the latter was rejected by the French Football Federation.
The Olympian club then had fifteen days to bring the case before the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) and hope to win their case. But, after a long reflection, the Marseille management finally decided to accept the verdict of the League to play the match and not to seize the CNOSF.
While two dates were relevant to dispute the meeting, it will therefore be played again this Tuesday, February 1 after Marseille’s victory against Montpellier in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. This decision does not help the affairs of Olympique Lyonnais. The Rhone club will indeed be deprived of Lucas Paqueta (7 goals, three decisive assists in L1 this season), retained with the Brazil team for the last qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup. On the Marseille side, Gerson is also with the Brazilian selection.
