Genoa – Regarding the finalization of the Position Paper of Confindustria Genova on the future of the Port, from the association let them know that the document sharing path is proceeding as planned. The clarification comes after the tensions that are recorded at the last meeting of the Terminal Operators Section. The goal, according to Confindustria, is to summarize the visions of the needs of the different sectors that must and in the port, in order to be able to grant the Port System Authority and the city some a structured proposal for the future that starts from fundamental principles: enhancement of the sea economy, with an idea of developing a multifunctional port centered on the expected project of the new Sampierdarena dam; expansion of freight and passenger traffic; job protection and growth; sustainable investments in line with the 2030 Agenda, aimed at consolidating Genoa as the country’s first port and projecting it as a hub for new European markets.
The internal process of sharing and comparison with the port sections of Confindustria Genova – currently underway, the associative leaders specify – it is the premise for the association and its associates to enter the port and the city as a whole, which is a bite-sized port master plan. At the end of this process, which will end in the last few weeks, the Position Paper drawn up in its final form to be then presented in the appropriate locations.
