Mose scandal: the heirs Mazzacurati, Mazzi and the Consorzio Venezia Nuova must go back 5.3 million
Bribes and false invoicing, the appeal to the Court of Auditors still confirms the first degree convictions. The dominus of the diabolical plan is dead, his wife has gone untraceable in America
VENICE. We are once again talking about compensation to the State for the whirlwind of bribes and false invoicing that accompanied the work of the Mose, in the era of the management of the Venezia Nuova Consortium led by Giovanni Mazzacurati.
Small discount on appeal – from 6 million and 900 thousand euros to 5,350 – in the compensation that the accounting judges now charge not only to the now deceased Mazzacurati (and to his heir wife, who cannot be found in the States), but more concretely to the current administrators of the Consorzio Venezia Nuova (although certainly not their responsibility, but due to past bad management) and the former deputy of Mazzacurati, Alessandro Mazzi.
CVN and the entrepreneur had appealed against the first degree conviction: the National Court reduced the “how much”, but confirmed the framework of omitted general control and intervention, proposed by the Veneto regional prosecutor and reaffirmed by the prosecutor.
With a discount, in fact. “The Board believes it will recalculate the damage at 5,350 million, equal to the donations paid by Chisso, Galan, Matteoli and Milanese”.
Therefore, in part of the bribes for which they negotiated or were condemned – depending on the rite (and, for some, also an accountant) – the former president of the Region Giancarlo Galan, the former councilor Renato Chisso, the former minister (now deceased) Altero Matteoli and the former fixer Marco Milanese.
