Genoa, appointment with the Memory of the places and the visit to the Jewish Ghetto
On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance, which celebrates the anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp of Auschwitz, EnjoyGenova, the program of guided tours by the Archeology Cooperative, proposes a tour in the ancient Jewish ghetto on Sunday 30 January and 6 February of Genoa on the historical memory of the places.
The path “The memory of places: the Jewish ghetto” in the historic center of Genoa takes visitors through those places that still today represent the “container” of many different but identical stories in their exclusion. Even if ghettos no longer exist, at least in the historical meaning of a symbolic place of Judaism, nevertheless there are many other ghettos, places of marginalization and poverty. During the walk in that particular area of the old city, full of different stories and memories, of episodes of urban and social revival, we visited the area of the “first ghetto” inaugurated in 1660 between piazzetta Fregoso, vico del campo and vico Untoria and delle coming Churches of the Vigne and San Siro. Both appointments will start at 2.30pm.
Guided tours are by reservation required at the number 3351278679 (also via whatsapp) or at [email protected] and www.enjoygenova.it.
The events are organized in compliance with the covid-19 regulations. All participants will receive the Enjoy fidelity card. By collecting the stamps you will be entitled to a free visit (excluding the Lessons of the Gardens). The Green Pass is required to access the visit.
