The government must be truly capable of fielding that much heralded sharing
Given the year 2022 that has just begun, the time has come to make an initial provisional balance. It is necessary to underline how the expectations were on the problems to be solved in the country: we recall the statements issued in CGG which provided ample assurances on the participation and sharing of fundamental choices, on listening to and understanding all the requests of civil society. After two years, the certain fact that we find is that these statements have often been mere utterances. While it is true that the management of the pandemic has forced politics to make exceptional and unexpected efforts, we cannot fail to observe how the situation is now losing control. We are not referring only to the field where for some time the ranks of a real organization have been lost, where in these two years the system has been held almost exclusively thanks to the preparation and commitment of our professionals and operators.
On a general level, decisions have been taken that will necessarily condition the future of citizens and the world of work without a minimum of sharing; impacting circumstances, such as for example the adhesion of public debt to the outside world where decisions have been taken without sharing, without clear data / prospectuses and without an accurate transfer of information, in our opinion, also to the social and economic parties. We are not even aware of a medium / long-term economic plan and of the choices of direction and development for the future of the country, on which we would like to dare our contribution, such as the path to joining the EU or the fight against tax evasion. : answers that the population and the workers deserve to obtain.
We hear it reaffirmed that 2022 will be the year of reforms but frankly the conditions are not better at the moment: the government often takes the path of decree even on matters of strict trade union competence, demonstrating very little ability to mediate and listen to the legitimate demands of the world of work. (unfortunately the decrees n ° 213 and 214 of 2021 were bad examples, all dropped from above). Only very recently with reference to the Work Program on the Reform of the General Income Tax do we welcome the intention of the Finance Secretariat to address the discussion with a view to participation and discussion with the social partners. Hopefully not an isolated action. We no longer believe it is permissible for politics to continue to relegate the trade union to a mere collector of cries for help from city workers and to decide too often unilaterally. Comparison does not mean simple presentation but we expect a real consultation, respect of the times and that follows received the requests that we will bring to the working tables. As a trade union, experiencing daily the problems of workers who are going through an uncertain and complex period in this, if 2022 will truly be the year of reforms we will not exempt ourselves from giving our contribution but only if those who are truly able to govern in the field that much heralded bargaining and sharing.
