INNIO Jenbacher receives EcoVadis Gold Medal for Sustainable Improvement and Sustainable Growth
Jenbach (A) INNIO announced today that EcoVadis has recognized its Jenbacher business with a gold medal in its annual sustainability performance assessment. This makes INNIO Jenbacher one of the top 1% of companies in this industry awarded by EcoVadis. With the upgrade from Silver to Gold, EcoVadis recognizes INNIO Jenbacher’s improvements and contributions to sustainable growth over the past year.
The annual EcoVadis assessment focuses on 21 aspects grouped into four main areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. These criteria are based on international sustainability standards, including the principles of the UN Global Compact, the conventions of the International Labor Organization and the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
“As a global provider of sustainable energy solutions along the entire value chain, we focus on comprehensively improving our sustainability performance. This allows us to ensure that we are reducing both our emissions and our carbon footprint,” said Olaf Berlien, President and CEO of INNIO. “We voluntarily allow ourselves to be evaluated by leading rating organizations such as EcoVadis to ensure that our products, services and processes meet the strictest sustainability criteria. The fact that EcoVadis awarded us a gold medal within less than a year confirms our sustainability strategy.”
The upgrade to a gold medal reflects the integration and intensification of INNIO’s sustainability efforts in 2021. Among others, INNIO has achieved these successes:
- Embed commitment to human rights and diversity, equality and inclusion in company policies and training
- Publication of the first sustainability report entitled “Together for A Sustainable Future”
- Establishing a range of key issues and indicators based on international frameworks such as the GRI guidelines, the standards of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol
- Implementation of measures, guidelines, strategies and initiatives to strengthen transparency and sustainable growth in INNIO’s supply chain
The relevance and scope of these advances were recently validated by INNIO Jenbacher’s recertification by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which includes ISO 45001, 14001, 9001, and 50001 standards. This enhances INNIO’s commitment to continued growth, excellence and excellence in quality, efficiency, sustainability, and health and safety practices.
