The Portuguese Voice. Edmundo Inácio sings a song by Tony Carreira and Diogo Piçarra shoots: “Why this?”
A week after surprising with a theme by Ágata, Edmundo Inácio decided to choose an unexpected theme for the gala of ‘The Voice Portugal’.
Edmundo Inácio once again surprised on ‘The Voice Portugal’ by singing a theme by Tony Carreira in the semifinal of the RTP1 talent contest. Diogo Piçarra took the opportunity to question the competitor’s choice live.
The contestant chose one of the themes of Tony Carreira’s biggest hit, ‘Boy Dreams’. After the performance, the mentors spared no praise for the participant.
“Edmundo always brings us these versions out of the box, congratulations on the arrangement, this was extraordinary as“, began by affirming Áurea.
Diogo Piçarra, mentor of Edmundo, wanted to know the reason for choosing a theme from the popular singer: “It all starts from Edmundo’s head, and as I said a few stages ago, I wanted to get inside this boy’s head (…) but, why is this? Why Tony?”
“And why not, Diego? This is the reality. Why Tony? First of all, it would be hard for someone to bring Tony, the first time now, it was a challenge for me to be able to make this song, try to deconstruct it, bring back all the more traditional parts and respect Portuguese music, this with great pleasure and because no Tony…“, replied Edmundo Inácio.
The contestant of ‘The Voice Portugal’ took the opportunity to activate a message to the family.
“I just wanted to send a kiss to the house, to the family and to the composer of this song, Tony. I think the family this little tribute, for the year it deserved“, he stated.
