Elia Bartolini da Sarsina promises great things, even if the MotoGp site makes him born in San Marino
Totally rookies towards the 2022 Moto3 World Championship, we easily focus on: Daniel Holgado, Ivan Ortola ‘, Joel Kelso and Elia Bartolini.
The first two are Spaniards and played for the Junior World Cup, closed in order; the third an Australian red, capable of surprising in the final of the Junior World Championship, the fourth a free range from Romagna, which has grown a lot in the last two years. Last year, the debutante ball was of absolute level, with a Spanish boy, Pedro Acosta, able to hoist himself on the roof of the world and put the crown on his head. His performance and that of the other very youngsters raised interest in rookies.
The ranking of the Fim Cev Repsol World Junior 2020 championship was clear: Izan Guevara, champion, followed by Xavier Artigas and Pedro Acosta, with Daniel Holgado and David Salvador behind Josè Luis Garcia, of Sic 58, 4th overall, and ahead of Adrian Fernandez also landed in the world also by virtue of the kinship with Raul Fernandez: his brother. Acosta won the real world last year, while Guevara and Artigas took one victory each, often fighting for the top positions.
There is always talk of young Spaniards even now, with the arrival of three Italians and with the intrusion of the Australian red Kelso, able in 2021 to win in the Fim Cev and to take 2 world points in the 4 appearances made. It will be a challenge between Spain and Italy also as schools.
If we look at the Fim Cev Repsol 2021 ranking, we see Holgado ahead of Ortola ‘, David Munoz, Kelso, David Salvador and the English Scott Ogden. The first six of the Junior world all land in the real one. The sarsinate Elia Bartolini, comes from the civ, the Italian championship, as well as the other two of our rookies: Matteo Bertelle (who also competed in the Red Bull Rookies Cup) and Alberto Surra. The first two played for the Italian title, which then went to the Romagna.
Bartolini appears the most ready: he collected 7 points in 2021, with two wilds card and three substitutions in the world, with another point centered in the only wild card of 2019. From experience and growth path, our talent appears most ready to compete for a podium. Too bad that on the MotoGP site they consider him San Marino … Bertelle made only one wild card, closing the flag at 2nd, while Alberto Surra 9 races in Andrea Migno’s team, the Snipers from Pesaro, and only one point. Holgado is an official Ktm driver and in the world championship he has already “danced” three times in 2021, collecting 3 points. He is the most anticipated young man, but he will have to contend with Bartolini, Kelso and Ortolà, as well as with the “old” still under 20 of the real world.
