More than 2,200 passengers fined for trying to enter Portugal without a negative test — DNOTICIAS.PT
More than 2,200 passengers were fined, between December 1 and January 10, for trying to enter Portugal through air borders without testing for SARS-CoV-2, the Ministry of Internal Administration said today.
According to the MAI, 41 airlines were also fined for boarding these passengers without a financial test.
In one of this measure to control the covid-19 balance sheet cases, the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) told the Lusa agency that, between December 1 and January 10, PSP and SEF inspected 1,460,08 passengers and 13,8 flights, which resulted in 2,245 offences.
Of the 2,245 infringement notices, 1,465 were raised by PSP planes, which control passengers from flights originating in the Schengen area (European area of free movement of people and 780 by the SEF, which inspects those coming from countries outside the Schengen area) .
Since December 01, 2021, all passengers arriving in Portugal by air are required to present a negative test or a recovery certificate upon disembarkation.
Passengers on flights R, children under 12 years of age and crews are being exempted from the mandatory testing, PC or fast.
Airlines that carry passengers without an incorrect financial test face a fine of between 20,000 and 40,000 euros per passenger and passengers are subject to an administrative offence, between 300 and 800 euros, for not submitting a test to order.
The MAI also states that the 2,245 contractions include eight foreigners who were refused entry into the country because they did not present a test on arrival, since only Portuguese citizens, foreigners residing in Portugal and diplomatic personnel.
MAI data also show that 2,266 diagnostic tests were carried out at airports for passengers who entered the country without this document.
At the land borders, also 01 that the citizens of countries outside the European Union and the Red Countries of the EU provided the considered risk of negative risk or certificate of recovery.
Citizens of countries considered to be low risk should be considered at low or moderate risk of entry into the EU, testing or guaranteeing security to enter below the EU, that is, citizens of countries considered to be low risk.

Control at the border areas will last until February 9th.
