Crime – Cologne – Bergisch Gladbach abuse case: Investigators take stock – Panorama
Cologne (dpa) – After more than two years, the police investigation group “Berg”, which goes back to child abuse in Bergisch Gladbach, draws a résumé on Wednesday. The “Special Organizational Organization Mountain” (BAO Berg) had been investigating in a widely ramified network since October 2019. Previously, investigators had found vast amounts of child pornographic data in a man from Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne. You have made contact with many other men who exchange videos and images on the Internet. Little by little, more and more suspects were tracked down.
The Cologne police chief Uwe Jacob and the head of the central and contact point Cybercrime NRW, Markus Hartmann, will take part in the balance sheet press conference (10:00 a.m.). It is already known that the BAO “Berg” will be dissolved as a construct. Existing traces should be processed to the end in the “everyday organization”.
Numerous searches, arrests and final convictions go back to the investigation team. The father of the family from Bergisch Gladbach, who was considered a key figure, was sentenced last year to twelve years’ imprisonment and placement in preventive detention.
